We are looking for an HR Consultant to join our team

Reporting directly to the Sr. HR Business Partner, the HR Advisor is a true generalist and enjoys all aspects of Human Resources, providing collaborative support to value-add initiatives across the Business. The successful incumbent provides full-cycle recruitment, employee engagement, HRIS administration, leave of absence management, total rewards including job evaluation, and health & safety administration. It will be a very active role, requiring you to be very engaged, creative, self-managed and self-driven.

What Youâ€ll Be Doing:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the HR department including but not limited to full-cycle recruitment, performance management, and the development of job descriptions.
  • Assist in strategizing and solutioning with managers on performance and/or disciplinary issues.
  • Engage in basic employee relations; ensuring that company guidelines are administered in a fair, non-discriminatory manner.
  • Support the processing of claims (short term disability, workerâ€s compensation, EI, and LTD) to ensure accurate and timely handling of claims.
  • Ad hoc HR projects and other duties as assigned.

What You Should Already Have:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • 5-7 years of HR experience with strong familiarity in full-cycle recruitment; exposure to compensation or total rewards is an asset.
  • CHRP designation while not required, is a benefit.
  • High attention to detail with good analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines and current employment legislation and law.
  • Process-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to client service, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Ability to organize work and manage competing and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to manage self in a variety of situations, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills including Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated consulting, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
