Osaka Kitchen is located at 104 Ave., Surrey, BC V4N 2H4. We are currently looking for permanent, full time Sushi Chefs. If you are interested, please submit your resume by e-mail.Position: Sushi ChefWages: CAD$28.00-37.00/hour (depending on skills and experiences)Types: Full-time, Permanent (various shifts, including evening, weekends, and holidays)Working hours: hours/weekBenefits: 4% of vacation payJob Duties: Plan and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of sushi foods Develop and execute seasonal or special sushi menus to attract and retain customers in collaboration with management Create special house sauce and new recipes to improve tastes and qualities of the dishes Maintain precise portioning, seasoning, and presentation standards Prepare all types of sushi including nigiri, sashimi, maki, specialty rolls, chefs specials Ensure health regulations and food safety policies are followed Demonstrate new techniques and equipment Supervise and train kitchen staff Coordinate with suppliers and management to order and receive fresh, high-quality ingredients Arrange repair and purchase of equipment Prepare dishes for customers with food allergiesJob Requirements: Completion of secondary school; Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation required. Skills demonstration may be required. Cook's trade certification an asset.
