They are also responsible for assisting in arranging efficient transportation, organizing storage, and other shipment solutions. Maintaining a cordial relationship with vendors, retailers, and customers is very essential in this role. Managing routine shipping and receiving of goods, materials and equipment of varying sizes at the project site. The main aim of the candidate is to lead all expediting and logistics activities from contract execution and Po issuance in a timely manner and ensure that they are being shipped and received according to the plan. They should be comfortable with information systems, documentation, and should have a strong understanding of receiving and shipping procedures. In addition to this, the ability to resolve issues related to shipping is a must. Identifying errors and working with supply chain for mitigation as it relates to pre receiving inspection.Key Responsibilities:Coordinate, expedite and monitor supply chain procurement commitments.Ensure premises, assets and communication are used effectively.Utilize logistics procedures to optimize shipping and receiving.Manage daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly manufacturing progress reports for purchased equipment.Supervise orders and arrange proper site storage and equipment requirements. Communicate and collaborate with suppliers, retailers, and site project teams.Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements.Keep logs and records of inbound freight, executed orders etc.Prepare accurate reports for management.Other tasks as required.Qualifications:Proven experience as logistics coordinatorExperience in customer service would be an asset.Excellent Knowledge of incoterms, laws, regulations, and ISO requirementsAbility to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of ERP software (SAP) Is required.Outstanding organizational and coordination abilitiesPrevious experience in coordinating shipping from global locations with 3PL Excellent communication & interpersonal skills and positive attitude.Excellent knowledge of surface and underground construction methods highly regarded.Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.The incumbent will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required. Experience with scheduling applications (Primavera P6) and project management applications would be an asset.A valid class G drivers' licence with a clean record is required.The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on an 14-14 rotation schedule with flights provided from Sudbury and Toronto. The schedule will consist of working 14 days on site staying at the camp with accommodations and meals provided. The 14 days following will be unpaid time off allowing you the flexibility to have more time to do what you enjoy.
