Job Description

WHAT'S THE JOB?

Dexterra on Demand ("DOD"), VCI Controls Division, has an opening for a dynamic Product Support role to support the growth of our proprietary building controls, 24/7 monitoring and Indoor Air Quality products. DOD is focused on scaling our products to existing and new customers, and is seeking an individual with knowledge and experience in the required support to scale. The ideal candidate has education or experience in product hardware/software and energy analysis.

Note: This is a Hybrid role; you may work from our Ottawa or Mississauga office, with the remaining days from home.

  • Assist in software development of existing and new Building Automation System ("BAS") products
  • Support multiple software suites in maintenance
  • Assist in new product development
  • Assist in 3rd party integration
  • Support debugging exercises
  • Create deployment packages
  • Provide sites/customers/technicians support, as required
  • Draft technical writing for teams
  • Draft and maintain problem reporting
  • Generate and template energy insights from data analysis of energy use
  • Participate and support Client Solutions team with technical support on sales
  • Participate in marketing exercises for products
  • Working within the following environment:
  • Multiple products maintenance coding
  • Mostly Windows Xp to Win10 IOT
  • Real time; communication protocols; data structures
  • Service technical support
  • New product development from concept to after sales support
  • Rebuilding a team
  • HVAC
Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience in multiple coding languages, including: C, C++, C#, Assembler, Visual Studio
  • Experience in Technical Writing
  • Experience in any product support is a bonus
  • Knowledge of energy data analysis processes and applications
  • Superior time management and organization skills
  • A valid Driver's License in good standing
  • Must be willing to travel to sites, when required
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada and achieve Security clearance for sites
  • Hybrid work location, Toronto or Ottawa
  • Comfortable in public speaking
  • Good in active listening
