MAJOR DUTIES:
- Primarily responsible for tasks including using a table saw, skill saw, Sabre saw, drills, hand tools, drywall repairs (patching, taping, mudding, sanding & painting), block & brick repairs (cement work), floor repairs (hardwood plywood & steel plates).
- Daily check all condensate pumps, followed by the daily job list activities and calls.
- Weekly oil all condensate pumps, check and clean strainers and pits, exterior grounds garbage pickup, interior wood chips pick up, all roof garbage pickup.
- Monthly emergency lights inspection, eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, Vipond sprinklers (as required), inspect glass and brittle, paint peeling, lunch room tables and chairs, floor steel plates, weed cutting around the building walls & parking lots, weed spraying, and basic plumbing repairs.
- Quarterly drinking fountain filter change, all sink taps leak inspections & repairs.
- Annually step ladder inspection and repairs, fire escape inspection and repairs, air conditioning window units installations, filling pot holes and grading parking lots, straighten all parking blocks, clean all fan screens.
- Prepare for the summer and winter seasons, including maintaining sidewalks and repair fences.
- Follow all plant safety rules and Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Perform other duties as necessary for building maintenance and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a good working knowledge of both written and oral English.
- Must be able to work well with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to lift heavy materials by following proper lifting practices as per Company guidelines.
- Ability to follow precise instructions.
- Normal courtesy in dealing with fellow employees.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work in extreme temperature (hot, cold, humid).
