We're looking for a Unit Manager to join our growing team

As a
Unit Manager, your work will have a big impact on our Operations & Planning Department. People will count on you to manage performance, professional development and ensure employee engagement.


The purpose of the Personal Lines Operations & Planning Team is to collaborate with our PL Business and IT teams to plan and execute strategic business projects.

Our goal is to develop and sustain a high level of efficiency, accuracy and satisfaction in existing or new development of functionality, products, and strategic business projects.


This multi-functional team supports the overall maintenance of our everchanging systems, as well as launch new products and functionality with strong system knowledge beginning-to-end.

The team is also responsible to ensure that processes are being followed and control steps are executed.

Here are a few ways you'll make a difference:

  • Develop and coach a team of approximately 10 direct reports by providing feedback, identify and develop talent, manager performance and development
  • Provide continuous process improvement to workflows and manage resources within the team
  • Supervise the work of the team and develop recommendations to improve efficiencies; as well as manage priorities for testing efforts and promotion of system changes to production.
  • Act as a resource for internal clients/colleagues by answering questions on systems and attending technical meetings

Your Skills

  • Minimum five (5) years experience leading a team
  • The following are considered assets:
  • Post Secondary education in Business Administration
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
  • Knowledge of Project Lifecycle
  • Previous project management experience
  • Experience in a Sr. Underwriting capacity
  • Some travel is required
