Understanding legislative frameworks is crucial for planning, procuring, and monitoring services for Albertans with Disabilities. Proficiency in client needs, community issues, and procurement is essential for successful contract and grant management.
This position operates autonomously and requires strong negotiation, monitoring, and consultative skills. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders such as Seniors, Community and Social Services personnel, and service providers is vital for assessing service needs and resolving emerging issues.
As the Contract and Procurement Specialist, your main objectives include:
- Relationship Management and Communication: Establish and nurture a network of relationships with key stakeholders.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Collaborate with delivery staff and service providers to oversee contracts and grants, ensuring adherence to regulations.
- Planning: Identify trends and seize opportunities to procure quality services aligned with ministry goals.
- Procurement Management: Develop and execute timely procurement plans compliant with ministry policies and legislation.
