Job Overview:

  • The Midnight's Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing Team Leads and the operations in multiple departments and ensures that production demands are consistently met.
  • This position is responsible for a broad range of duties including, but not limited to safety initiatives, departmental development, and continuous improvement efforts in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organization.
  • The role will promote a collaborative environment to ensure effective communication and interaction across shifts and departments to achieve business results.


This position is for P
ermanent Midnights from
10:30pm to 7:30am, Sunday through Thursday with some occasional overtime and variation required.


CSA approved Safety Shoes are mandatory.

Production Supervisors Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Coordinate and support smooth and prompt startup of machines at the beginning of the shift, after changeovers, and in between shifts.
  • Assign and monitor work according to production schedule. Assure coordinated workflow and elimination of ordinary obstacles.
  • Perform hourly checks to monitor all production processes, to observe operator productivity and scrap counts and make adjustments to equipment or work practices as necessary, according to standard operating procedures.
  • Properly relay communications regarding key operational and material instructions to all operators from management at shift meetings.
  • Oversee all shift operations while delivering key performance indicators (safety, quality, cost, and service).
  • Manage employee performance to establish expectations, monitor, and measure contributions and provide employee feedback by fostering a mentor approach with coaching, training, and instruction as required.
  • Observe progresses and provide ongoing feedback to team members. Complete performance evaluations and overall performance management of team members for probationary, and annual evaluations, and progressive discipline reviews when necessary.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment by being a role model for your team members.
  • Identify, support, and promote the discovery of opportunities for continuous improvement in productivity, efficiency, quality, and overall employee welfare.
  • Coordinate cross training and continued development and training of production line operators to ensure coverage for sick calls and vacation time.
  • Provide daily or as needed updates of processes and personnel to operations & materials managers.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and that working conditions are safe at all times. Perform minor adjustments to equipment as needed. Notify maintenance and management of any machinery that requires repairing.
  • Manage overall package and product quality to ensure all standards and specifications are maintained.
  • Perform first level reporting for daily production report for all departments regarding departmental processes and procedures, staffing issues such as absences, work in process, production and quality variances such as scrap material, sanitation, maintenance downtime, safety concerns, and other areas impacting the daily operation of the department.
  • Verify all required daily production report documentation is properly filled out and accurately reflected in TimeTrex.
  • Maintain daily reports to measure key process indicators (KPI). Review data to develop and implement corrective action plans or recovery plans as needed.
  • Participate in identifying recruitment needs in accordance with product demand and employee turnover.
  • Ensure standard work adherence and promote a customer centric environment where quality is a core value.
  • Actively support and adhere to NRT's safety guidelines and participate in assisting in the enforcement of safe work practices, following all safety regulations and policies.
  • Participate in and facilitate in biweekly departmental meetings with management, providing information and updates on operational issues.
  • Conduct monthly and ongoing safety training as outlined.
  • Work with H&S manager to improve safety culture and programs.
  • Suggest changes in SOPs and departmental activities to increase safety, quality, or efficiency.
  • Report accidents and near misses to the H&S manager and assist with investigations. Ensure a
