IMCO is looking for a highly motivated Senior Manager, Core Investment Data to join our team

The Senior Manager, Core Investment Data is responsible for managing and overseeing the design, development, and support of the data warehouses on Azure.

As lead liaison to stakeholders, the role will be responsible for understanding corporate objectives, anticipating the needs of stakeholders, managing team capacity to align with upcoming business needs, and overseeing overall technology development, solution delivery, and operational support.

This is a critical role in managing and organizing large volumes of structured and unstructured data, ensuring data integrity, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making processes.

The role will also support project initiatives in providing data and complex integration solutions on the Azure cloud with adherence to IMCO's policies, processes, procedures, and overall supportability of all applications.

The incumbent will contribute to strategic discussions with senior stakeholders across the organization. This role will report to the Director, Data Technology.

Lead, advise, and oversee a team of Business System Analysts, Data Engineers, and Quality Assurance testers to support solution delivery, systems upgrades, and day-to-day activities.

Lead implementation of new solutions to support data integration overseeing the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring data quality and consistency throughout the process with Azure data technology, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Data bricks, and Azure Data Lake

Collaborate with the Cyber and Data Enablement teams and ensure data security is in line with policies and appropriate access controls, data encryption, and data masking techniques are applied where applicable to protect information stored in the data warehouse.

Collaborate with architects to define and implement scalable, efficient, and robust data warehouse architecture, data flow, and data models for relational, hierarchies, and dimensional warehouses.

Define and refine operational processes, SOC 2 compliance, and production support and ensure the supportability of all solutions with proper documentation and training.

Managing vendor relationships and ensuring the effective implementation and integration of data into the data warehouse environment.

Act as a trusted partner, technical advisor, and subject matter expert in data warehousing to business partners, IT stakeholders, and operation teams.

Lead planning and oversee decisions to align with organizational objectives, directions, and priorities.
Manage priorities, capacity, and work intake to align with stakeholder demands and organization objectives.
Create a culture that attracts and develops staff to maximize performance and efficiency.

Contribute to the development of IT strategic roadmap, and team objectives with the Director and other senior leaders in IT.

Contribute to ongoing budget planning and tracking.
Contribute to business cases for corporate projects and systems implementations.
Evaluating and selecting third-party vendors for data warehousing tools and enhancement of technologies.
Monitor operational risk and systems performance management in all initiatives.

Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of ten years of experience in data warehousing and integration.

~5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring Data and BI Engineers.
~ Intermediate to senior-level experience in operationalizing cloud data platforms with Azure data solutions such as Data Factory, Airflow, Snowflake, Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Service, Azure Synapse, and Azure Function App
~ Strong understanding of data management, investment master data, investment reference data, data hierarchy concepts, and solutions
~ Strong understanding of Python, SQL programming, and database and ETL optimization.
~ Strong understanding of investment and market data with a preference to experience in the asset management industry.
~ Excellent communication skills, and proven success communicating with the stakeholders, technical teams, and senior management.
~ Experience in leading cross-functional teams in other investment IT organizations.
~ Demonstrated ability to wear multiple hats, such as project management, requirement analysis, solution design, visioning, planning, testing, and solutions implementation.
~ Knowledge of solution development life cycles, including planning, requirement, analysis, design, build, testing, implementation, and post-implementation activities.
~ Good understanding of agile practices, with demonstrated experience in operating in Kanban or Scrum for delivery.
~ Excellent communication skills, and ability to communicate comfortably with both business and technical teams.
~ Domain knowledge in IT service management such as incident management, change management, configuration management, and operations management.
~ A strong technical background in data solutions and/or application development to effectively partner, communicate, and understand systems designs with the development team, and IT architecture team.
~ Provide leadership and practice in change management and DevOps concepts and improve on operations, data, and systems integration.
~ Knowledge of investment systems, Eagle PACE is preferred.
~ Knowledge in reporting and analytics with Power BI is preferred.
~ CFA, CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSC, Lean and/or Six Sigma, or PMP designation is an asset.
~ Exposure to Data Science and Machine Learning, and LLM is an asset.
