Your Opportunity:


Reporting to the Manager, Facilities, the Summer Intern plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for all those visiting Edmonton Unlimited headquarters.

This role involves greeting & aiding visitors, managing various office & building tasks, and serving as the initial friendly face of Edmonton Unlimited.

This would be a great opportunity for a post-secondary student who has a proactive attitude and a keen interest in learning more about the innovation and entrepreneurial space.


Your Key Accountabilities:

  • Promotes an equitable, diverse, and inclusive work environment, and contributes to Edmonton Unlimited's ongoing pursuit of Reconciliation.
  • Extends a warm and welcoming reception to all visitors, reflecting a positive and helpful demeanor.
  • Ensures visitors feel at ease and guide them efficiently to the appropriate personnel within the establishment.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to create memorable customer interactions, providing excellent service and assistance to guests.
  • Interacts courteously and efficiently with guests, offering directions, information.
  • Assists visitors by addressing queries, answering questions, and directing them to officespecific services.
  • Supports the Manager, Facilities in assigned administrative tasks and provides assistance to the leadership team as required.
  • Takes charge of daily mail duties, including documenting into the mail log and directing queries to appropriate departments.
  • Employs exceptional prioritization skills and a sense of urgency to manage tasks effectively.
  • Maintains a fully stocked kitchen, monitoring fridge contents for expiry.
  • Upholds the cleanliness and orderliness of common areas, café, and kitchen, enhancing the overall appearance of the premises.
  • Ensures the stationary area is organized and wellstocked for office needs.
  • Handles Business Model 101 Mail Orders efficiently.
  • Plays a role in workplace security by assisting with the issuing, checking, and collecting badges as necessary, while also maintaining visitor logs.
  • Contributes to the creation of informative guides, including Kantech Bypass information and other procedural documents.
  • Embraces any additional responsibilities that may arise in support of the role.

Your Credentials:

  • Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in a postsecondary program, preferably in business or a related field.
  • Demonstrated 2+ years of related work experience providing outstanding customer support.
  • Thrives in a startup environment with a flat organizational structure, emphasizing strong team collaboration.
  • Possesses exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, coupled with a keen eye for detail.
  • Upholds a commitment to integrity and confidentiality at all times.
  • A passion for innovation and entrepreneurship is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Innately innovative in approach and mindset.
  • Embraces any additional responsibilities that may arise in support of the role.
