Summer Student Intern
Information Technology Services

Full-time, 4-month term

As a Student Intern, you will have an opportunity to join a project team and gain real world experience in an
IT setting.

You will be expected to:

  • Participate in various roles on various projects.
  • Share new ideas and development practices openly.
  • Develop skills vital to your career as a Computer Science graduate.
  • Be passionate about technology.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of a project team you may be required to:

  • Create project documents and associated planning documents.
  • Create stakeholder analyses.
  • Lead consultations and facilitate stakeholder meetings.
  • Create business requirements, functional specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Create new business and technical processes and complete business process reviews/re
- engineering for existing processes.
  • Facilitate business process improvement sessions.
  • Assist in the development of new IT services and implementation of infrastructure components.
  • Carry out annual evergreening, upgrading and asset inventory tasks.
  • Schedule, organize and lead project status meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Escalate unresolved issues/risks, options, and recommendations.
  • Participate in the development of business architecture design, software system specifications
- design, and database modelling.
  • Develop webforms, workflows, etc.
  • Perform project management, business and technical analysis, and systems design.
  • Produce project artifacts and documentation.
  • Prepare, update, and manage documents defining the business requirements, software
requirements, functional design, and project plans and schedules reflecting achievable
deliverables.

  • Prepare regular project status reports indicating project deliverables, possible risk and issues,
time-lines, and anticipated effort.

  • Ensure appropriate project communication occurs to all parties involved during all phases of the
project.

  • Identify required user training.
  • Additional responsibilities as required by the Project Manager for a Business Analyst or Technical
Analyst role.

**QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed 2nd year of a Computing Science degree is preferable.
  • Strong data structures, logic, and algorithm skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Selfmotivated and willing to pitch in on all tasks.
  • Team player.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of project management practices is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of SaaS and Cloudbased technologies is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of MS365 solutions including SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and Azure is desirable.
  • Strong scripting skills (i.e. PowerShell, C#) is desirable.
