Committee Secretary:

The Executive Office and Commission Secretariat Branch is looking for a Committee Secretary for an indeterminate position. The position is classified as an RÉ-05 ($68, 641 to $91, 072 per annum).

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Chief, Commission Secretariat, the Committee Secretary organizes meetings of the NCC's committees, maintains a formal record of the committee discussions, and advises and assists NCC staff in the preparation of submissions.

The individual provides advise to committee members and supports the Chief Commission secretariat on committee related matters.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
A university degree in a field related to the position.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in each of the following areas.- Writing and editing reports, minutes, briefs or memoranda in both official languages.


  • Advising senior staff in drafting corporate submissions.
  • Translating documents.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Of the National Capital Commission, its mandate and its programs.
  • Of the roles, responsibilities and duties required for the proper functioning of committees.
  • Of the accepted procedures in the conduct of meetings (Robert's rules of order) and the drafting of minutes.
