The State Group is seeking a Safety Coordinator based in Oakville, Ontario.
This position is located at the Ford Manufacturing Facility in Oakville, ON. Pay is hourly with shift premium and will be commensurate with experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Represent the General / Prime Contractor's H&S program and accountabilities for contractors in the workplace.
  • Be part of a team of 10 health and safety field advisors.
  • Participate in H&S contractor safety meetings and Worker Trades Committee meetings.
  • Liaison with customers, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Review contractor prehazard assessment plans.
  • Collect information and report key performance indicators to project leaders.
  • Review incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Conduct site inspections and communicate mitigation requirements.
  • Prepare and communicate H&S safety bulletins.
  • Enforce H&S compliance for the workplace in accordance with the OHSA and the owner's regulations/requirements.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Knowledge of Ontario Construction Regulations.
  • 35+ years' experience as a construction H&S manager or lead coordinator.
  • NCSO, H&S Gold Seal, or CRSP designations are assets.
  • Experience around demolition and heavy equipment.
  • Working experience with electrical (Z462) and energy isolation H&S.
  • Knowledgeable of cranes, hoisting and rigging, steel erection, and hot work.
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene best practices.
  • Must be able to problem solve and advise ensuring compliance with the OHSA Construction Regulations and Industrial Establishments.
- "Working at Heights", WHMIS, Confined Space Entry Awareness, and Elevated Work Platform training and experience are assets.
