Position Summary:


This role will have a significant focus on planning tools, with a technical understanding of McCain's existing planning infrastructure (APO, IBP and IBP Optimizer) and externally available solutions in order to lead improvement and enhancement initiatives.

In addition, the Project Lead will work closely with the Inventory Manager, Strategic Supply Planning Managers, and Capabilities/Process & Training Manager for both Appetizers and Potato to gain an in-depth knowledge of the categories to gain context on future planning tool requirements, ensure proper capabilities training to support technical solutions are embedded into Supply Chain org and also be able to support the team in strategic plan execution.


This role will also engage in continuous evaluation of gaps and opportunities regarding planning tools, and provide a perspective on optimal course of action which may include the implementation of new tools.

The role will interface closely with Production & Deployment planning teams, especially where new functionality may be present.

The Technical Stream Manager will also work closely with Information Technology, Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Commercial, & Finance teams, as well as potential external partners/stakeholders.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • For all Projects in the Planning function, develop project plan & timeline, including setting and managing expectations within given timeline & scope of project. Define Project risks and manage team resources against specific tasks.
  • Function as the primary IT Liaison during planning project implementation(s) and over the course of the project lifecycle. They will organize internal blueprinting, technical gap analysis, Minimum Viable Product identification, and internal user testing.
  • Be able to evaluate multiple alternatives and approaches to maximize overall value and achieve user needs in a time efficient manner.
  • Monitor project progress and define deadlines. Anticipate delays and be proactive in mitigation of risks.
  • Ensure seamless integration of new technological capabilities into the planning process.
  • Work with planning team to develop thorough understanding of Potato and Appetizers network in order to support the team, and also to gain context of gaps in planning tools, and make recommendations of tool enhancement/improvement
  • Ensure thorough supporting documentation repository is created, along with supporting standard operating procedures (SOPs) for planners.
  • Provide support on commercialization/new business deployment projects as needed
  • Identify, assess, and summarize future system requirements to support business growth requirements.
  • Analyze "what if" scenarios to determine most costeffective solutions to business opportunities and challenges.

Requirements:

Academic:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related discipline

Professional/Technical Accreditations:

  • PMP and/or APICS certified preferred

Related Work Experience (Internal to the organization or external):

  • 5+ years of supply chain, production planning or manufacturing experience.
  • Significant experience in supply chain planning and execution.
  • Experience with SAP IBP, along with experience in largescale planning tool implementation preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to assert influence
  • Ability to influence without authority & comfort around senior leadership
  • Understand and articulate financial implications of changes in inventory levels and plant production plans.
  • Able to evaluate alternatives and effectively develop contingency plans.
  • Bias towards action, able to synthesize multiple pieces of information and act decisively
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Effective team building and leadership skills are necessary as are skills for selling ideas and obtaining buyin from multiple organizations
  • Strong expertise in planning methodologies and plant operations.
  • Ability to link business strategies and objectives.
  • Able to infer realistic business and supply chain implications from model results.
