Job Summary
The Power Systems Solutions (PSS) Department of S&C Electric Canada is in search of an Electrical Engineering Student. The successful candidate will be rotated between different groups of PSS which includes: Engineering, Field Service, and Project Management. This an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in different areas of the business environment

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the scope and customer requirements of the project and assist in defining the technical scope of work with S&C's lead engineers
  • Assist the engineering team to Perform the development and execution of P&C and SCADA design activities on assigned projects.
  • Prepare AC DC schematic drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Work with the project team to develop technical specification for equipment and service to support procurement process
  • Review shop drawings for technical conformity to project requirements
  • Write technical reports and proposals
  • Project management coordination and scheduling
  • Attend meetings, prepare minutes of meeting and follow up with action items
  • Assist in facilitation of workshops and meetings to develop business processes
  • Document business processes based on output from workshops
  • Assist in providing installation, FAT, on site commissioning and startup activities at the job sites as required by project scopes
  • Work with S&C's products including communication devices and Distribution Automation control
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3rd or 4th year Electrical Engineering student
  • Eligible and registered for an 8 month Co-op work term
  • Self-starter with excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Fast-learner with an aptitude for learning other company-specific software
  • Proficient with Microsoft software, specifically Excel and Word
  • Experienced with Micro Station or AutoCAD
  • Familiar with relay programming, communication protocols, and protection logic concepts
