INTRODUCTION:


Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services.

Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients.

These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

Reporting to the Vice President

, the Regional Manager will serve as the voice of the customer within the organization ensuring a high level of client satisfaction through the management of service deliverables, providing support, direction and training to our commissionaires, keeping accurate records, ensuring a safe work environment, meeting regularly with the client representative(s), updating contract details, and recommending efficiencies to service as appropriate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage client relationships and serving as an escalation point for site staff
  • Meet with clients regularly to assess service delivery and overall site performance
  • Ensure all processes, policies, and procedures are adopted including but not limited to performance reviews, scheduling, recruiting, etc
  • Manage the effectiveness of assigned supervisors and employees by providing sound leadership, management, guidance and coaching
  • Actively participate in the staffing process; including interviews and selection through competitions and appointments
  • Conduct contract and employee investigations and provide recommendations
  • Ensure complaints, problems and requests are effectively resolved in a timely manner
  • Conduct operations in accordance with ISO objectives, all applicable Employment and Labour Standards Legislation, the Private Security and Investigative Services Act (PSISA) and client requirements
  • Prepare and submit ISO Non-Compliance Reports and Corrective Actions Report
  • Ensure health and safety related activities are completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner Other duties as reasonably assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post
  • secondary Diploma in a related field such as: Business Administration, Police Foundations, Operations Management or equivalent level of experience
  • Minimum five (5) years' middle management experience with several direct reports
  • Highly reliable and able to work in a dynamic work environment
  • Positive attitude and ability to provide strong leadership to supervisors and commissionaires in the field
  • Must be perceived as a strong leader by those who will be reporting into the position
- "Self-starter" with ability to execute with little supervision

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills who enjoys being a mentor and coach
  • Must have or qualify for Federal Secret Level II clearance and hold valid security guard licence
  • Must be able to commute to and from the workplace, to the various client site locations throughout CGL
