Regional Learning Centre (RLC) Education Coordinator

Company Summary
The Regional Learning Centre (RLC) strengthens the skills and abilities of direct care providers in the community.

The RLC provides front-line staff and supervisors with the tools to improve client care through the delivery of educational sessions, focused learning, and development.

***As the Education Coordinator for the Regional Learning Centre, you'll assist with a variety of special projects and the daily operations of the Regional Learning Centre.


You will also be creating marketing materials, assisting with event planning and logistics, and be asked to come up with innovative solutions to a variety of problems.


What could a day in the life look like?

  • Helping participants to register for education events
  • Designing a new flyer to advertise an upcoming course
  • Learning how to use a new platform or app to help us run better events
  • Updating the website, acting as a moderator for a virtual Zoom session
  • Organizing events in collaboration with the RLC education team
  • Doing vital tasks like data entry and managing the education schedule

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enable registration for special events, and assist participants with registration for courses, and troubleshooting of related issues
  • Managing back end of RLC website (training will be provided) and updating education calendar and website resources as directed.
  • Managing event ticketing website (e.g. Eventbrite events, Pheedloop)
  • Creating a variety of promotional materials including flyers for education events, newsletters, and videos.
  • Supporting educators during virtual education sessions acting as a moderator
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of educational events and special events
  • Support inperson education events and coordinate and oversee room bookings for RLC suite 20
  • Oversee the RLC YouTube channel
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Credentials

  • A college certificate/diploma is required. Administrative Assistant diploma preferred.

Skills You Bring

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, problemsolving and decisionmaking ability.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a high degree of initiative. Ability to research a variety of solutions/options to solve problems
  • This is a creative role you must be able to gracefully receive constructive feedback about your work
  • Ability to work independently, and successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated initiative, teamwork and the ability to prioritize tasks and be flexible to accommodate changing demands.
  • Experience with Eventbrite, MailChimp, PheedLoop, TeamUp Calendar, YouTube, and Survey Monkey are an asset.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement.
  • Familiarity with community healthcare, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and adult learning principles is an asset.

  • A Criminal Record Check and credential verification, as applicable, will be conducted

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Mixture of remote and inperson work. Special Equipment office phones, computers, laptops, printers, photocopier, cellphone and other office equipment,
  • Sitting, standing, walking, moderate lifting
  • Smoking is not permitted in the office areas. Smoking areas are designated according to the policy of the building.
  • Nucleus Independent Living has a scentfree environment policy.
  • No hazardous materials other than normal/usual household cleaning supplies are used.
Vaccines are a proven, safe and powerful weapon in our battle against COVID-19.

Now that vaccines are widely available and recognizing that many of our staff are already vaccinated, vaccination will be a condition of employment for new hires, except when impossible due to legitimate, established exceptions.

The vaccine must be a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series approved by Health Canada.

This is one more important step to protect both our residents and staff as we continue to battle this deadly virus.
