Areas of Responsibilities:

Develop IR Canada's Partnership Strategy and continue to enhance IR Canada's internal capacity to facilitate partnerships.

This includes regularly updating IR Canada's partnership policy, as needed, and raising awareness across the organization on our approach to partnerships.

Lead on identifying potential partners, aligned with IR Canada's charitable mandate and strategy. This includes desk research; reaching out to external contacts, where helpful; collaborating with other departments (e.g. the Fundraising Department); and presenting relevant recommendations to senior management.
Coordinate the due diligence process for screening potential partners. This position will lead the due diligence process; however, it requires collaboration with relevant staff (e.g. Finance staff for review of partner financial policies).
Ensure risk mapping of countries is up-to-date, particularly if country contexts change.

Upon successful partnership screening and approvals, work with partners to develop required project documents as per IR Canada's requirements and develop draft partnership agreements.

This includes collaborating with others in the international program department on program design and approaches, where helpful.
Foster relationship-building with future and current partners.

For potential partners, this includes initial touch points, while for established partners it includes regular touch points for coordination and follow-up as per agreements.

Manage a portfolio of projects implemented through partnerships.

Tasks range from ensuring project management tasks are up-to-date, facilitating internal information sharing on projects, and maintaining regular updates on projects, to name a few.

Ensure partnerships adhere to IR Canada's compliance requirements.

This includes supporting partners in understanding and meeting compliance requirements, as well as ensuring all partnership-related documentation is well-organized and stored on IR Canada's data systems.


Qualifications:

At least 3 years of experience facilitating and fostering partnerships
Ability to consistently take initiative and be pro-active
Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a culturally diverse environment and negotiate with partners
Strong written and organizational skills, including time management and prioritization

Must be eligible to work in Canada and be available to work flexible hours, when required.
