The Nova Scotia College of Nursing is seeking the services of a Practice Consultant for a 16 month term to join our dynamic team and contribute to our organization's vision, mission and strategic plan.
The Practice Consultant:
- provides individual and group consultation and education services to nurses and stakeholders;
- analyzes evolving trends and developments in nursing and the health system;
- gathers, interprets and uses best evidence to develop, implement and evaluate policy,
- develops documents tools, programs, guidelines or recommendations to provide guidance and support for professional nursing practice;
- utilizes project and change management methods to develop resources that support quality and effective nursing practice;
- builds strong networks within the profession and linkages across the health sector to support the practice of nursing in the public interest
- contributes to the achievements of the Standards and Guidance and Customer Experience Team to meet NSCN's Purpose, Mission, Vision and Values.
Education and Licensure Requirements:
- Undergraduate (degree required) Master's in Nursing or Education preferred
Job specific competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work in teams.
- Experience managing a high workload in a fastpaced environment
- Is both trauma informed and culturally sensitive in their approach
- Superior analytical and writing skills
- Project management skills.
- Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) skills.
- Technical proficiency in the use of computers and programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the health system.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Work independently with little supervision
