Responsibilities:

  • Set the tone in the warehouse and lead the workforce to delivering on the company's "flexible client solutions" philosophy.
  • Understand the customer service requirements, and make sure that all resources are aligned to achieve those expectations.
  • Personally bring a high level of energy to the building; drive a fast pace of activity in all areas of the warehouse; Be visible on the floor be the "go to" source for leadership.
  • Are handson involved in guiding the warehouse team to achieve effective space management, efficient use of time with high levels of productivity, extremely high levels of quality, and ensure proper use of systems, processes and procedures.
  • Accomplish warehouse human resource objectives by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Meet warehouse standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; productivity, quality, and customerservice standards; resolving problems.
  • Move inventory as instructed by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouses and coordinate inventory transfers with related departments.
  • Maintain storage area, adhere to storage design principles, recommend improvements.
  • Manage inventory by conducting physical counts as required, reconciling variances.
  • Ensure warehouse security is upheld by setting alarms and performing required dock checks.
  • Keep equipment operational by enforcing operating instructions and reporting requirement for repairs.
  • Uphold company safety standards, inspecting the performance of warehouse staff, and provide ongoing related training.

Qualifications:

  • Previous distribution or warehouse experience, where you have shown your personal ownership of warehousing responsibilities.
  • Safety focused
  • Energetic and dependable
  • Deadline-Oriented/proficient time management
  • Experience in a unionized environment
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems, knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Post secondary education is an asset
  • Excellent communications skills and effective problem solving ability

Salary:
$25.00-$27.00 per hour
