Job Summary:

You are a safety-conscious Asphalt Plant Foreperson with at least 3 years' experience. You will be working with our Highway Construction crew throughout Alberta on various paving projects. You are a team player who ensures the well-being of others and lends a hand where needed.

This will be a full-time position and Ledcor will help support your on-going employee training and career development in our diversified company.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate ability to manage Asphalt Plant safely and effectively
  • Ensure regular equipment maintenance is completed
  • Monitor operations to ensure consistent production and be responsible for completing daily checks and maintain plant logs
  • Must lead and comply with Ledcor's Health & Safety programs
  • Supervise daily operations to ensure the safety of the crew, facility, environment, and members of the public
  • Manage resources, equipment, labour, and contract truckers in order to perform highway construction activities efficiently
  • Plan and prioritize work in order to meet contractual milestones
  • Liaise with quality control supervisor to ensure quality objectives are met and to ensure compliance with contract specifications
  • Inspect equipment regularly and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed
  • Lead daily safety toolbox meetings with the crew and ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly
  • May perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing an Asphalt Plant
  • Must successfully complete preaccess drug and alcohol testing
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to provide a valid driver's abstract
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Ability to incorporate health and safety concepts into work activities
  • Ability to work under mínimal supervision
  • Mechanical inclination would be a definite asset

Work Conditions:

  • This position is field based from May to November 2023 with an opportunity to do Plant Maintenance work in the off season.
  • Living out allowance of $130.00 per day is provided
  • Benefits and RSPs provided
  • It is beneficial to own an RV or trailer. Camp area with utilities hookups will be provided
