**The Opportunity**:
Porter Warehousing & Distribution Inc. is looking for a highly productive and efficient **Foreperson **(formerly Foreman) to join our Warehouse team. Reporting to the Supervisor, the Foreperson is involved in the timely movement of products in and out of the warehouse, and in ensuring that receiving, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and storage functions are executed correctly. This position supports the Supervisor with floor & team coordination and occasional relief.

**About you**

Your ability to lead a team and support others with their knowledge, skills, and experience in a Warehouse and Distribution environment is second to none. Your thorough understanding of shipping and receiving, storage abilities, inventory control, and distribution make you the go-to person while on the floor. With your attention to detail, safety-first environment, and time-management skills being some of your top priorities, you make sure your co-workers and reporting staff have the training, tools, resources, and support necessary to complete the job.

**What will you do?**
- Understand the customer service requirements, and make sure that all resources are aligned to achieve those expectations
- Set the tone in the warehouse and lead the workforce to deliver the company’s “flexible client solutions” philosophy
- Be visible on the floor - be the “go-to” source for leadership
- Hands-on involvement in guiding the warehouse team to achieve effective space management, efficient use of time with high levels of productivity, extremely high levels of quality, and ensuring proper use of systems, processes, and procedures
- Accomplish warehouse human resource objectives by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; and adhering to policies and procedures.
- Meet warehouse standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; productivity quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems
- Move inventory as instructed by scheduling materials to be moved to and from the warehouse, coordinating inventory transfers with related departments

**What you need to succeed**
- **Must-have**_
- Grade 12 Diploma or GED, with 3 - 5 years of leadership experience supervising a team of 10-20 employees
- Proven ability at time management, organizing, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines in a high volume and fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with root cause investigations and drug & alcohol testing protocols
- Strong safety focus and holding people accountable to safety practices
- Proven experience with the Microsoft Office suite and ERP/WMS systems
- 2+ years’ experience on a sit-down forklift and 1+ years’ experience on a stand-up reach forklift, ride-on electric power jack, clamp attachment, and loading/unloading products from warehouse and truck trailers
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle or dependable transport to work

Compensation between **$25.00 - $27.00/hour** based on experience, an employer contribution pension plan, paid vacation, a comprehensive benefits package, learning and development, an employee assistance program, and free parking.

The role reports to our P14 Warehouse located at 16810 140 Ave NW Edmonton. It is permanent full-time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, from 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
