Key Purpose


As a Control System Lead at ISS you will play a crucial role in promoting a safe working environment and ensuring the optimal performance of material handling control systems.

Leveraging your expertise in PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks, and electronic control systems, you will troubleshoot, modify, and maintain systems to enhance building utilization.


Safety and Compliance:
Promote and uphold a safe working environment by strictly adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.

Technical Expertise:

Troubleshoot and modify software programs for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers (e.g., Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix), and industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I).


Escalation Support:
Act as the first level of escalation support for control system technician teams. Escalate downtime situations to vendors or headquarters when necessary to restore equipment operation promptly.

Performance Monitoring:

Monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics and collaborate with Controls Technicians and Mechanics to resolve electrical problems affecting performance.


System Assessments:
Perform controls systems assessments to maintain and improve equipment reliability. Utilize FC System Assessment reports to identify and address deficiencies.

Project Coordination:
Partner with Facility Operations leadership, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers to plan and coordinate new technology installations. Act as the technical consultant for capital projects inside the building.

Communication:
Communicate technical issues and project timelines to building leadership, operations, and the maintenance team. Explain production impacts and work closely with operations and engineering for a thorough understanding of system impact.

Training Development:
Develop training plans for Control Systems Technicians to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Proficiency in PLC programming, particularly with Allen Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs using RS Logix 5000.

Strong knowledge of industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I.

Experience with motor control systems, servo drives, variable frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
