The Role


We are currently looking for
2 Property Business Analysts with a
strong real estate, legal or property accounting background to work on an outsource 6 month contract, directly for our client in their offices in
downtown Toronto**.

The role is primarily responsible for all elements of project controls, budgeting and reporting relating to property acquisition.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the Closing function when acquiring property
  • Review and process budget tables to meet acquisition requirements
  • Monitor the propertyrelated vendor of record supplier contracts and current spending to ensure compliance
  • Review and process legal invoices for all closings
  • Ensure property data management database is updated
  • Review and summarize contracts, property legal documentation, the Expropriations Act and other relevant documentation
  • Communicate with various municipalities to ensure timely processing of closing requests
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor the property accruals and budgets
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders for monthly reporting and tracking
  • Develop and administer capital budget requests, board memos and reports to senior management
  • Develop and maintain project controls systems to manage key project financials (e.g., budget, forecast, actuals, variance, etc.)
  • Identify and assess financial issues that could impact the delivery of property and advise on potential property delivery delays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate, Environment, Business Administration, Construction, or related field
  • Background, as a paralegal, land analyst, or in a real estate or property accounting role preferred
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in construction projects, property development, real property administration, or urban planning ideally within the public sector
  • Prior experience with agreements and contracts in the legal, real estate, and propertyrelated fields, including Memorandums of Understanding
  • Knowledge of legal matters pertaining to real property rights, property law/valuation, property assessment, and survey plans/documents and legal practices and principles
  • Knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of project management; project management software
  • Excellent attention to detail to design and construct programs, techniques, standards, and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral/written/presentation skills to clearly, concisely, and logically structure information
  • Experience with collaboration and conflict resolution skills to manage and reconcile the needs of a diverse range of stakeholders
