Your mission will be accountable for developing, implementing and managing the Safety Program to ensure the safety of employees and the general public and to provide leadership in growing a "safety conscious culture". WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?- Reduce occupational injuries and workers compensation costs through proactive management and training.

  • Develop, implement and administer general safety and environmental policies and procedures, safety training programs and compliance processes, both internal and external to comply with corporate guidelines and government regulations.
  • Provide support to U.S. facilities in matters of safety and environmental compliance, including hazard identification evaluation and control, accident injury prevention, hazardous materials/waste management, emergency preparedness, fire/life safety, ergonomics and industrial hygiene.
  • Administer the Corporate Workers' Compensation program and Return to Work/Modified Duty Program.
  • Review monthly Workers' Compensation Cost Reports and communicate relevant information to senior management.
  • Administer training programs that include education, inspections, equipment specific training, discipline, reward, safety awareness, audits and corrective actions.
  • Administer and coordinate hazardous material training programs (MSDS and Hazmat) for all U.S. field personnel (and all modes of transportation) to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Coordinate Forklift Safety Training and certification programs to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Work with field management to ensure proper safety equipment is required in job procedures and worn by employees.
  • Facilitate inspections of the organization's facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards.
  • Train and certify all individuals conducting inspections and accident investigations.
  • Develop and manage field performance and measurement tools to audit for regulatory compliance.
  • Manage hazard/nearmiss identification process. Manage accident and nearmiss programs.
  • Confirm compliance with safety rules and programs, managing and evaluating the effectiveness of company safety programs, analyzing accident data, researching, identifying, investigating problems and recommending corrective or preventative measures and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Develop training tools, manuals, etc. to assist the field with safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with management and safety committees to develop innovative solutions to promote employee involvement in health and safety programs.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct safe methods training (new hire and recurrent) for employees.
  • Responsible for ensuring safety information is communicated through a variety of mediums (safety boards, start of shift meetings, monthly facility meetings, facility newsletter, etc.)
  • Ensure that proper reporting is made to all federal, state and local authorities.
  • Maintain environmental and safety program records and provide periodic reports on performance and compliance to senior management.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all employees regarding safety and environmental issues.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Distribute work to other accounting specialists to ensure an efficient and productive work flow.
  • Provide assistance on followup and consultation with stations and vendors to resolve complex accounts payable or other accounting issues.
  • Perform data entry by inputting data from source documents into computer.
  • Respond to vendor questions on current invoices, past due invoices and statements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
