Working for the Department/Faculty
The Student Recruiter, Augustana Campus role is located in Camrose, Alberta. The hours of work for this position will be varied, including a requirement to work evenings and weekends.

This position requires overtime, extensive travel within Canada, and time away from home that may average more than five days per trip (primarily September through December).

Please note that this position is a term position with full time hours from August 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024.


Position


Reporting directly to the Student Recruitment Service Partner, Augustana Campus, the Student Recruiter, Augustana Campus position within the Student Recruitment Centre of Expertise is responsible for the dissemination of information and effective promotion of the University of Alberta, and specifically specializes in knowledge about Augustana Campus, to prospective students across Canada.

This exciting and diverse position supports the execution of Augustana recruitment strategies, which includes representing Augustana at post-secondary fairs, classroom presentations, planning events, providing campus tours, organizing and executing administrative details, and researching recruitment trends as required to recruit exceptional prospective students.

This position requires extensive travel across Alberta and Canada, targeting select high schools, colleges, and special events to recruit prospective students via presentations and one on one interactions, including driving a UofA fleet vehicle to local and rural Alberta recruitment events.

In addition, this position will participate in recruiting and connecting with prospective students using virtual platforms.

Duties

  • Travels across Alberta and Canada targeting select high schools, postsecondary institutions, and special events to recruit prospective students via presentations, booth fairs and oneonone advising
  • Engages audiences in an age appropriate, culturally aware, and inclusive manner.
  • Provides oncampus and virtual advising, as well as supporting oncampus tours and events for prospective students, parents, and guests touring and visiting Augustana Campus
  • Promotes Augustana Campus and the University of Alberta at various recruitment events to prospective students and their parents, including extensive public speaking
  • Brainstorms and proposes new and innovative ideas to improve prospective student engagement for the purpose of recruitment
  • Evaluates attended recruitment initiatives by reporting prospective engagement, lead generation, number of publications provided, event attendance, and other meaningful notes describing the purpose and utility of the event for evaluation and future planning purposes.
  • Drives the collection of leads from potential students and monitors their progression throughout the enrolment funnel. Enters data into university systems in order to track potential applicants.
  • Liaises with staff who support enrolment management and student services objectives within the Office of the Registrar, Augustana Campus, as well as the Indigenous and International Recruitment teams.
  • Packages and ships recruitment materials to appropriate clients, as well as to travel destinations
  • Performs other duties as required
