Position Summary

Responsibilities

  • Teach using a variety of strategies to support studentcentered learning.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication and knowledge of cultural competency in interactions with the public, colleagues, other professionals and students in internal and external educational and practice settings
  • Develop, revise and adapt appropriate learning resources for students
  • Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes using a variety of techniques
  • Engage students to create a positive teaching and learning environment
  • Demonstrate an ability to work in a teambased work environment
  • Use academic technology effectively to enhance and support learning
  • Provide and promote a respectful and supportive environment based upon the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity
  • Attend meetings and maintain records of student grades/assessments

Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology (or equivalent).
  • Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level is an asset.
  • Technical expertise in one or more of the following domains:
  • _Android app development in Android studio, Kotlin_
- _iOS development Objective-C/Swift, XCode._
- _Mobile web technologies and development with HTML, CSS, JSON, React Native, JavaScript, and Flutter._
- _Mobile enterprise technologies and development REST/Graph QL, XML, MongoDB, Microservices, Docker, and Swagger._
- _Mobile Applications UI/UX design._
- _Emerging technology skills such as cloud technologies, Internet of Things, social media, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and chat-bots._

  • Experience in teaching and course material development is an asset.
  • Demonstrated competent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion to meet the needs of our diverse students, staff and college community.
