The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the West Region Commander are seeking a qualified individual to join our West Region Business & Finance team. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will provide financial, clerical and administrative services to the Regional Headquarters.

This is for a Permanent - Regular PartTime position. The results of this competition will be used to fill current and future temporary and permanent opportunities with qualified eligible candidates within the unit during the next 12 months following the competition closing.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is one of North America's largest deployed police services with more than 5,800 uniformed officers, 2,400 civilian employees and 830 Auxiliary officers. We provide essential services that ensure the safety and security of the people of the Province of Ontario. The OPP is a division of the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the largest operational ministry in the province with a presence in every community across Ontario. We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada.

The Business & Finance team is responsible for providing administrative support to Command Staff and Unit Commanders, as well as coordinating and managing programs and services that support OPP Frontline Officers and detachments. The team's work contributes to how the OPP delivers policing services to those who live, work, and travel throughout Southwestern Ontario.

How do I qualify?MandatoryAbility to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Oral communication skills for in person and by phone communications with agencies, companies, police services, and the public.

• Knowledge of and skill in computer operation and software including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Ability to:
o Plan and prioritize own work on a daily basis as well as performing as part of a team.
o Analyze and research information when preparing regular and ad hoc statistical reports and determining appropriate format for management's use in program delivery.
o Exercise sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Flexibility
