About The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced operations supervisor to be a part of a greenfield project.

This roll will require your expertise in developing procedures, building the operations team, and performing commissioning activities at the start.

During normal operations you will lead your team for success daily through coaching, mentoring, and assisting in all areas to ensure daily production targets are met, environmental and safety policies are upheld, and customer satisfaction is exceeded.

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Commissioning & Startup Plans and
  • Safety Procedures
  • Complete assigned training courses
  • Assist cross functional departments as required

Commissioning and Startup


  • Initial commissioning activities will take place in Vietnam, ability to travel overseas is required_
  • Perform / witness system inspections and signoff on work that conforms to contract standards
  • Document deficiencies for correction and verify rework is completed to contract standard
  • Escalate nonconformance issues with the shipyard and internal management as required
  • Operate systems for wet commissioning
  • Participate in seatrials and other task as required
  • Complete final systems check with vendors and operations team in Prince Rupert

Operations


  • Support all aspects of the daytoday operation, including process review, managing daily plant operation and distribution activities, and all reporting requirements.
  • Perform tailgate meetings with your crew, outlining daily activities and hazard mitigations
  • Perform training and mentoring of terminal personnel to maintain operational knowledge
  • Leadership of safety process with responsibility for the site's overall safety performance
  • Coordinates safety and emergency response
  • Participate in the company's Quality Management program, Emergency Response Drills, and follows requirements of the Facility Security Plan
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure all products and services meet superior performance expectations while achieving all contractual specifications
  • Responsible for the hiring/promotion of staff, salary change considerations, and employee performance management including performance reviews and all disciplinary matters
  • Monitors workload and staff assignments, reviews progress, direct changes in priorities and schedules as needed to assure work is completed in an efficient and timely manner
  • Lead, motivate, and support individual and team growth through engagement and career development planning
  • Initiate actions to address poor operational and employee performance
  • Monitor environmental regulations/requirements, and report any noncompliances
  • Lead effective incident reporting and investigations
  • Support budget process and promote cost saving initiatives
  • Coordinate and coach team members to troubleshoot operational issues and develop solutions
  • To communicate and provide leadership in promoting compliance to facility production targets
  • Relieve the control room operator as required
  • Assist field operators by performing operations task as required
  • Work with the Operations & Safety Coordinator to plan daily operational activities between Wolverine Terminals and various Stakeholders
  • Complete and or verify daily reports ensuring accuracy and correct reporting to various stakeholders and Wolverine Terminals Offices
  • Supervise Oil Transfer Activities, including rail, barge and vessel
  • Communicate, direct, and oversee third party services
  • Work Closely with the maintenance department by identifying corrective actions, hazards, work orders, issuing work permits, verifying work plans, and ensuring LOTO procedures are adhered to

  • Work closely with the thirdparty QC service provider by arranging product inspections
  • Audit thirdparty QC service provider to ensure compliance with Wolverine QA/QC standards
  • Collect, sort and input data to support KPI

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 35 years of demonstrated experience in rolls such as supervisor of oil transfer operations, bargeman, deckhand, marine engineer, barge master
  • A period of 510 years, wellrounded experience in rail, marine or oil & gas
  • Load Master & SOTO Certification
  • Marine Emergency
