Brief Job Overview


Reporting to the General Manager, Clubhouse Manager oversees operations and provides leadership of Food & Beverage (Casual Dining, Fine Dining, Banquets, kitchen), Concierge, Housekeeping, Maintenance departments and renovations through these departments' respective managers and supervisors ensuring legal compliance, efficient operation, and quality services delivered to the Membership and guests of the Club.

Specific duties would include, but are not limited to:

  • Clubhouse Manager is a member of the Senior Management Team and a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee. This role carries responsibilities related to Health and Safety, Security, General Clubhouse operation matters and the identification, development and implementation of special projects, including Capital Expenditures projects.
  • Mediating conflict, actively identifying and correcting breaches in house rules, assisting with questions and managing emergencies.
  • Follows the direction of the Club's Vision, Mission, and Values Statements to support the Club's standards and objectives to achieve the highest level of Member Satisfaction
  • Maintains management and leadership oversight of the operation, services, events and facilities to meet the needs of the Club.
  • Development of Club Security, including any and all securityrelated protocols and procedures, security guard services, access systems (including all forms of 'gating') and security camera systems.
  • Closely works with supervised Department Heads ensuring a safe, clean, well maintained, continuously improved and upgraded facilities.
  • Leads regular inspection schedule of facilities and ensures that complaints are dealt with quickly and effectively.
  • Maintains the highest standards of performance and professionalism. Manages with the highest regard for the workplace values, policies in the Employee Handbook and the bylaws, regulations, and Membership Policies, Rules and Regulations of the Club.
  • Develops and distributes information to Members, employees, management, and concierge desk pertaining to all supervised departments to ensure all interested parties are properly advised.
  • Prepares, implements and maintains the annual operating budget for the areas of responsibility, including recommendations for capital improvements and replacements.
  • Develop an annual and multiyear capital expenditure plan to identify opportunities to effectively use capital towards the continuous improvement of facilities within the Clubhouse Manager's mandate.
  • Leads and mentors direct reports, sets out clear performance expectations for each, observes conduct and performance and personally facilitates an evaluation review with each department head on a regular basis.
  • Builds a culture where all employees feel empowered, valued, recognized and part of the team, with clear expectations and appropriate rewards and recognition.
  • Performs special assignments and completes reasonable tasks or duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Job Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality, Business Management or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years of senior level or management experience in the hospitality industry or experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills to allow for effective communication.
  • Tact and diplomacy in addressing Members' and employees' grievances and concerns.
  • Ability to understand budgets, expenditures, and profit and loss statements.
