Laurentian University, located on Atikameksheng Anishnawbek territory in Sudbury, Ontario, serves over

(population 160,000). Laurentian University has close and productive ties to Science North, SNOLAB, Health

Sciences North and multiple post-secondary institutions.

The School of Nursing has prepared students to enter the nursing profession for over 50 years, offering

Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BScN) programs in both French and English. The School prepares

graduates that engage in self-directed professional practice, and make decisions guided by evidence-informed

nursing knowledge using clinical reasoning. The School of Nursing also provides students with the opportunity

to study nursing at the graduate level. The Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) program is offered in French

and English with four streams including: Nurse Practitioner (clinical stream), Advanced Practice Nursing

(course based stream), Thesis (research stream), and Post Nurse Practitioner Certificate (course based stream).

All streams in the MScN program are delivered remotely with the exception of onsite requirements for the

Nurse Practitioner program. We are proud to contribute to our community by building capacity for advanced

practice nursing in the North and beyond through our graduate programs.

Essential Qualifications

  • Fully bilingual in French and English.
  • Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Ontario (registered nurse extended class), or in another jurisdiction
with the intention to receive a NP license in Ontario prior to commencing this position.

  • Completion of a PhD degree in nursing or related field is preferred. Suitably qualified applicants nearing
completion of their PhD may be considered.

  • At least 4 years full time practice as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Recent teaching experience at the university level
  • Active engagement in scholarship endeavours, including research
