Position Summary

Cambrian College is dedicated to student success, continuous learning, and meeting the diverse needs of students in today's ever-changing global environment. The School of Health and Wellness has been providing relevant education programs since the College's establishment in 1967. Currently, they are looking for a Professor specializing in Massage Therapy to join them in August 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities

The selected candidate will teach various courses in Massage Therapy, covering areas such as Clinical Anatomy, Assessment and Treatment Planning, Massage Skills and Techniques, Remedial Exercise, and Neuroanatomy. Apart from teaching, they will engage in curriculum development, student assessment, and class management, fostering a conducive learning environment and contributing to the program's success. The role also involves student advising, recruitment, and promoting the program's achievements. Additionally, the incumbent will be involved in establishing industry connections, community partnerships, and contributing to applied research activities.

Qualifications

Required:

Postsecondary diploma in Massage TherapyGeneral Certificate with the College of Massage Therapists of OntarioCurrent HCP Standard First Aid and CPRThree or more years of experience as a Registered Massage Therapist in OntarioPrevious teaching experience, preferably at the postsecondary levelAbility to positively communicate and work effectively within a teamExperience with diverse student groups and educational technologiesStrong commitment to student success and educationAdditional Assets/Preferred:Postsecondary degreeExperience operating a Massage Therapy clinicResearch experience in Massage TherapyAdditional adult education training is beneficial
