Manager, Donations - 12 Month Contract

What is the opportunity?


The primary purpose of the Manager, Donations for RBC Wealth Management 'RBC WM' is to work closely with the Senior Manager, Community Investment on the strategic planning and execution of the RBC Foundation portfolio for the Global Asset Management 'GAM' and Wealth Management businesses respectively in Canada.

They enhance and maintain WM's corporate reputation and profile while working to align and amplify our community investments to reflect our strategic priorities.


What will you do?

  • Responsible for endtoend management of WM Canada's branch allocations of RBC Foundation funds including tracking, quarterly and year end reporting, and budget reconciliation
  • Responsible for WM Canada and GAM donations review, communications, and processing for key internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead the 'Emerging Artists' donation program ensuring WM's investment is strategically represented and weighted in accordance with the stated goals of RBC Foundation's community investment portfolio. Seek opportunities for employees to activate and engage with their communities in connection to these gifts wherever and whenever possible in tandem with Sr. Manager, Community, Employee and Client Engagement, RBC WM.
  • Provide advice and support to the businesses, including communication of Corporate Citizenship Strategy that will support their businesses and community needs
  • Partner with colleagues in Foundation Head Office, RBC Lines of business, and the regions for P&CB across Canada on community presence activities that align to the GAM and WM Canada businesses to increase brand profile and reputation, and enhance business relationships
  • Help leverage and engage internal stakeholders effectively by identifying and cocreating opportunities for employee engagement within community partnerships
  • Help support Enterprise and WM Canada and GAM's's employee fundraising and volunteer promotion, support inquiries and help identify and create opportunities for employee engagement and donation leveraging events within community partnerships under the Team RBC and Employee Volunteer Grant programs
  • Manage donation processing and review of all Food Bank, International Women's Day, CMHA, and Habitat for Humanity WM Canada National Community Investment and Partnering Programs. Monitor and report on YoY engagement efforts for these programs
  • Partner with marketing and communications team on community activities to help amplify the RBC WM brand in Canada through appropriate channels
  • Champion the administration and process changes, rollout and communication including online tools and resources related to donations and donations management
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting as it relates to the smartsimple donations system for donation requests and resolve issues in tandem with support teams as quickly as possible
  • Adhere to RBC Foundation legal requirements and ensure all Revenue Canada legalities are met with regard to charitable giving, receipting etc.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • 4+ years of experience in marketing /communications / community investment role in a corporate, charity, nonprofit, or related agency environment
  • Postsecondary degree in marketing, corporate communications, public relations or related degree
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain quality and accuracy
  • Adaptability and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced team environment as well as independently with mínimal supervision
  • Strong customer service ethic, and ability to manage and cultivate relationships with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Fluent in both English and French (reading, writing, conversation)
  • Experience working in marketing/communications within the financial industry
  • Experience working with SmartSimple online donations portal, or similar
