Sr Technical Program Manager, Brand Advertising and Shopping Experience

This role is available in New York City or Vancouver, Canada.

Amazon's shopping experience caters to customers who have a clear idea of what they want. However, not every shopping journey fits this mold - some people shop to explore, discover, refine their tastes, or simply have fun. Currently, Amazon doesn't fully address this type of shopping behavior.

The aim is to fill this gap by introducing a new way to shop on Amazon. This approach focuses on the less utilitarian aspects of shopping, encouraging customers to explore and discover new brands and products through feeds of branded content. It allows brands to share their stories, connect with shoppers, and foster brand loyalty. The goal is to create complementary shopping experiences where customers can seamlessly shift between making purchases and exploratory shopping.

This position requires a seasoned TPM to collaborate with product, design, science, operations, product marketing, third-party integrators, and sales teams to develop new products and brand experiences. Due to the strategic importance of this program for Advertising and Amazon as a whole, this role will have significant visibility at the S-Team level.

Because the product is in its early stages, there is room to think ambitiously. The role demands a strong customer focus, a bias for action, a commitment to high standards, and the ability to earn trust. The products and initiatives involved are crucial and prominent within Amazon's senior leadership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, establishing processes, and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience in building and evaluating system-level technical designs
  • Experience in developing and delivering product and technical roadmaps
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of project management experience, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management
  • Experience in defining KPIs/SLAs to drive multimillion-dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
