Position Overview:


Santis Health, a leading strategic advisory consultancy dedicated to providing first-class counsel and support to clients exclusively in the health care and life sciences sectors is hiring a Vice President to manage and grow the company's Atlantic Canada government affairs business.

Santis Health is a rapidly growing consulting firm, and this new venture offers an exciting opportunity to lead business in Atlantic Canada, and build on our existing footprint in the region.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader, guiding the team when appropriate and doing the work when required.


This ambitious, self-motivated individual will be a source of trusted counsel to clients at the very highest levels and will also contribute to a positive, performance-oriented culture within the company.

The successful candidate will be a leader in the company and will use their superior management skills to build and lead a team, participate in Senior Management Team initiatives and work closely with Practice Area Leads to leverage experience and expertise across the organization.

They will drive business growth and work to build Santis' reputation and footprint in in Atlantic Canada.


Successful applicants will have strong knowledge of health systems and stakeholders in Atlantic Canada, government policy, regulatory and funding processes and a track record of driving meaningful change through advocacy.

Highly developed leadership and relationship management skills are mandatory and experience working in the health sector or as a consultant are a strong benefit.


Requirements of Role:

  • Your first responsibility will be to help build Santis' reputation and build sales in Atlantic Canada through both organic growth of existing accounts and participation in identifying, pitching, and winning new client accounts.
  • A key responsibility and performance measure will be to manage and oversee Santis' growing Atlantic Canada Government Affairs practice.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build rapport and credibility with clients, based on trust and expert counsel.
  • Lead account teams in all functional areas as dictated by current client needs.
  • Ensure client satisfaction with Santis' services, outcomes, & staff and quickly and effectively resolve client problems or concerns if and as they arise.
  • Play a leadership role in coaching and facilitating professional development of staff and creating growth opportunities.
  • Exemplify and actively foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration in order to leverage the expertise and experiences of other practice area teams.
  • Establish a physical presence for Santis Health in Atlantic Canada by establishing an office in Halifax and overtime building out a team of Atlantic Canada based staff.
  • Proactively identify, respond to and lead new business opportunities.
  • Quickly develop a strong understanding of the correlations within Santis Health's three internal practice areas (Communications, Government Relations, and Strategy & Policy) and employ knowledge in order to build new opportunities for the firm.
  • Develop an integrated marketing and business development plan for Atlantic Canada in consultation with the senior leadership team within 90 days.

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of how government operates.
  • Experience in the health care system with a solid network in Atlantic Canada.
  • A selfstarter who can work independently to create opportunities and solve problems.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills; including ability to inform, delegate, empower and motivate.
  • Client service excellence and relationship building and/or deep sectoral knowledge and specialized expertise.
  • A proven track record of effective management experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Excellent EQ, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Able to work at both a leadership and tactical level.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from a fouryear college or university; advanced degree preferred.
