Yard Manager

Global Power Systems is looking for a Yard Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Nisku, AB location. The Yard Manager will be responsible for managing the physical appearance of the yard and its surrounding areas.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the physical appearance of the yard, including landscaping, parking, and loading zones
- Ensure that all vehicles are properly parked and are not blocking access to the yard
- Manage the parking lot, including assigning spaces and enforcing a curfew
- Ensure that all equipment is properly parked and maintained
- Oversee the maintenance of the yard's physical structures, including asphalt, gravel, and drainage
- Safely Load and unload equipment for customers and Global Power Systems
- Support shipping receiving for loading and unloading
- Maintain yard, equipment and all inventory, including prepare equipment for delivery, detailing, washing, greasing, changing a battery, equipment inspections and monitoring
- Responsible for Yard Inventory (inventory counts) And Auction units
- Lock and unlock gates
- Ensure all appropriate documentation is completed when loading and unloading equipment
- Booking and organizing trucking for equipment
- Move equipment and attachments between storage yard, Auctions and Global Power Systems yard.
- Supporting sales staff in delivery of equipment
- Main customer contact in yard
- Inspect and report concerns/issues relating to yard/facility maintenance and general upkeep, and handle as directed
- Manage the logistics of equipment and attachments for service department
- General support from all departments
- Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment is maintained
- Communicate with other departments, staff groups and customers
Skills:
- Previous experience as a Yard Manager or similar role (preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent time management skills & "can do" attitude
- Forklift training
- Loader training
- Operate all equipment
- Safely loading and unloading
- Strong communication skills
- Self-Motivation, initiative, resourcefulness, dependability, organisationand the ability to work independently
Salary:
$25.00-$35.00 per hour
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Nisku, AB T9E 8L6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- Yard: 1 year (preferred)
Language:
- English (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
Shift availability:
- Day Shift (preferred)
