About the role:


The Publicity Manager for Drama, Nelvana and Streaming is responsible for overseeing a team of three and driving strategic internal and external communications programs for all priorities under a diverse portfolio.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities detailed below.

You will contribute by:

  • Oversee the strategic positioning of all brands under portfolio including Corus' Drama networks (Showcase, W Network, and more), Nelvana, Corus' worldleading international producer, distributor and licensor of children's animated and live action content, and Corus' streaming portfolio, including STACKTV and TELETOON+.
  • Lead the planning and execution of creative communications programs that include alwayson media relations, influencer campaigns, events, experiential opportunities, press junkets, talent and executive interviews, and more.
  • Manage and coach three team members who work across the portfolio and foster a highperforming team.
  • Provide direction for the drafting of publicity support materials including press releases, key message documents, press kits, presentations, and reports as required.
  • Ensure that strong working relationships are developed with all internal and external stakeholders including: media, influencers, network talent, talent managers, producers, and studios/distributors.
  • Manage all event planning as it pertains to overall publicity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional team members to develop and execute innovative, fully integrated campaign strategies.
  • Manage issues/crises communications as needed.
  • Spearhead or assist in special projects as it pertains to overall departmental initiatives.
  • Budget forecasting and tracking.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in PR / Communications.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience working in a media relations or publicity capacity, preferably in the entertainment industry.
  • Proven people management experience, with at least 3 years of managing direct reports.
  • Interest in and knowledge of Canadian entertainment, streaming and media industries.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven strategic planning skills with a clear understanding of the role of communications in achieving the overall business goals.
  • A trackrecord of executing outofthebox ideas and demonstrating new and innovative thinking.
  • Experience working with business leaders.
  • Strong working relationships with Canadian media and influencers across all mediums.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork and collaboration a must.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.

  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MRP, Cision and CNW.
