We are currently seeking a Head Cook for a permanent position at our Mother and Child Center in Montreal.
The Head Cook will be in charge of supervising cooks and assistant cooks in preparing meals and executing tasks to meet established quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises, trains and mentors the cooks and assistant cooks
- Performs basic preparations for dishes
- Develops healthy and balanced meals
- Prepares the fruits and vegetables according to the menus
- Monitors the preparation of dishes and prepare plates according to food regulation standards
- Inspects and ensures the compliance of hygiene regulations of the premises and the equipment used
- Manages orders with suppliers
- Manages the inventory, the products and merchandise
- Pays particular attention to food allergies and safety guidelines in the kitchen
- Ensures the respect of the established quality standards
- Any other related tasks
PROFILE REQUIRED
- Hold a cooking diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position
- Experience in the supervision of personnel
- Hold a training certificate in hygiene and sanitation approved by MAPAQ
- Have experience in institutional cooking (asset)
- Selfreliance and leadership
- Possess excellent organizational and occupational structure
- Have the ability to communicate with others and be a good educator
- Bilingual (asset)
