POSITION SUMMARY

In a longstanding, technology-focused small business, this role provides direct support to end-users and assists with the ongoing maintenance and upgrading of the Company's IT systems while ensuring the Company's administrative, operational, and financial processes are maintained. This position manages client contracts and supports clients via a help desk. It also oversees the Company's IT infrastructure, providing direct technical support.
Reports to: The President
Position: This is the senior staff role in a relatively small business office.

JOB SPECIFIC DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES

Client and Office Support: Manage and maintain client contracts and information access while supporting clients via the help desk, managing internal systems, and client relationships. Conduct daily banking, filing, document management, and e-waste review. Provide financial reporting, including banking and accounting system inputs and reconciliation.

Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting via remote access, phone, email, or in-person for hardware, software, and network issues, while managing and updating applications in collaboration with consultants and outside advisors. Administer and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights, and oversee email services, Microsoft Office applications, and databases. Additionally, manage software and hardware licenses, vendor contracts, and website maintenance, upgrading vendor software as needed. Assist with budgeting and planning for IT infrastructure.

Financial Reporting: Providing banking and accounting system inputs, revenue and expense accounting and reconciliation, and providing accounting and financial reporting.

Other: Assist in various new business projects and other related duties as required

YOU AND YOUR EXPERIENCE
  • Diploma or Certificate in Business Information Technology from Red River College (or equivalent or related designation).
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Help Desk Administrator position.
  • Strong verbal and written skills required.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience with virtualization and networking particularly:
  • remote desktop sharing software;
  • firewalls including AntiVirus / SpamWare or similar software;
  • managing VMs (VMWare an asset), and Windows Servers, security patches and software upgrades;
  • Experience with Microsoft applications such as:
  • M365 Admin, Exchange Online, Teams & SharePoint;
  • Office 365 products, advanced Excel skills;
  • Experience in website management (updating website and host) would be an asset.
  • Experience with financial systems, daily postings, bank reconciliation, budgeting, GST, monthly billing
production and financial reports for the Company's Board - Quickbooks Desktop would be an asset.
  • Experience in managing projects would be an asset.
