The Department of Justice, Legal Services Division is the law firm for the Province of Nova Scotia.

Justice lawyers have the opportunity to participate in a broad range of legal issues, providing legal services to the Crown and promoting the fair and lawful administration of public affairs in accordance with the law.

The Legal Services Division consists of Solicitor Services, Litigation Services, and the Registry of Regulations. We are currently recruiting for a lawyer for the Child Protection Team in Truro.
Have a working knowledge of computer software programs, Internet and electronic mail.
Have one year of practice experience in family law.

The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to offer creative and innovative solutions to complex challenges, as well as the flexibility to adapt and thrive in a continuously changing and demanding environment.

The following are considered asset qualifications for the position:

Practice experience in child protection law.
Practice experience representing a child protection agency.

Sitting at a computer for long periods of time
Long periods of concentration are required at hearings and writing briefs
