JOB OVERVIEWThe Shipping and Receiving Coordinator plays a crucial role in the efficient flow of products within a warehouse or distribution center.

To be successful in the role, a candidate is responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying the contents, processing and preparing outgoing shipments, and maintaining accurate records of inventory.

And will prepare orders for shipment, complete all paperwork, obtain the best rate quotes, and ensure the accuracy of the order to ship.

Duties include but are not limited to, receiving, storing, and distributing all deliveries, as well as stocking and restocking items in their proper locations as needed.

Ultimately, a top coordinator should be able to ensure efficient shipping and receiving processes and promptly resolve any problems or discrepancies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESReceiving Unload and move materials to designated storage areas.
Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness.
Check goods against purchase orders or invoices, identifying discrepancies and reporting them to the appropriate personnel.
Inventory ManagementWork closely with the inventory control team to resolve discrepancies.
Update inventory records and databases with received and shipped items.
Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain accurate stock levels.
Order ProcessingGenerate shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments according to established procedures.
Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.
Quality ControlReport and document any damaged or defective items.
Maintains detailed records of all incoming and outgoing shipments. Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality standards.
Collaborate with the quality control team to address product quality concerns.
CommunicationCommunicate effectively with carriers, drivers, and other external partners.
Liaise with various departments, including purchasing, sales, and customer service, to ensure accurate and timely information flow. Safety and ComplianceEnsure compliance with shipping regulations and documentation requirements.
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols in all shipping and receiving activities.
Verify inventory counts and physical inventory as required. Alert management of out-of-stock or low-stock levels as discovered. Maintaining your work area in a clean and organized fashion at all times.
Move materials in and out of work areas and the warehouse as required. Complete all paperwork accurately as instructed by your manager and lead person. Report any inefficient or unsafe conditions to management upon discovery of the conditions. Perform all work using safety equipment as instructed while obeying all safety rules and procedures.

Prepare orders for shipment per pick-ticket, using a scanner and forklift, ensuring the accuracy of the shipment and associated shipping documents.

QUALIFICATIONS- Strong interpersonal skills- High School Diploma or equivalent- 2 to 3 years of solid work experience- Additional education or certification in logistics is a plus- Familiarity with inventory management systems and software- Proven experience in shipping and receiving or a related field- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and operate material handling equipment- Ability to work well within a teamwork-oriented environment and independently- Skilled in communication (verbal and written), organization skills, client service, questioning and listening, time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills Job ID:
