Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA):
- Job Duties
Job Duties - 1. To provide case management service and supports for students identified as being at risk of leaving their academic program.
- Provide personal, crisis, academic and/or career counseling for students, where appropriate.
- Participate on the Student Support and Intervention Team (SSIT), collaborate to develop and facilitate case planning and interventions for students.
- Identify issues and work to creatively engage with students and academic program staff, through pro-active outreach efforts and activities.
- Liaise with and provide referrals to appropriate internal departments, and external agencies, institutions, and/or employers, based on student needs and case plan.
- Maintain records of student-related information, compile statistics and data tracking, and report such information as required.
- Prepare group workshops and/or presentations where appropriate.
- Work cooperatively in an interdependent team environment.
- Contribute to an environment that is inclusive, accessible and valuing of the beliefs, needs, and contributions of diversity.
- Be knowledgeable about the factors that affect people who are socioeconomically disadvantaged.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
- 1. Master's Degree which includes a supervised graduate Counselling practicum. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for current faculty in educational counsellor roles.
- Two years' recent, relevant experience counselling in an educational or mental health setting.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills in complex and emotionally charged situations.
- Ability to work as a member of multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of students.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous social, economic and cultural challenges in Saskatchewan and the relationship of these challenges to the support of Indigenous students.
- Be knowledgeable about intercultural and socioeconomic barriers to student success.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize psychometric instruments in a counselling setting.
