The role of
School Reintegration Program Team Lead will focus on connecting with families of students ages 12-17 who remained out of school during pandemic and haven't attended either in-person or online classes or their attendance was sporadic (25% of classes or less).

Reintegration process will consist of group and/or one-on-one components based on student needs and will be designed to help them overcome barriers and challenges.

The Team Lead will be in charge of managing the program site, coordinating all program activities including but not limited to identification of access issues, design of individual/group intervention strategies, facilitation of workshops, help with school registration and course selection, follow-ups with program participants.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work and collaborate effectively with school administration, counsellors to identify students of concern
  • Hold initial meeting with student and parent/guardian, review permission forms, and obtain signatures
  • Establish a desirable working relationship with parent/guardian to assure constructive parental participation and involvement.
  • Assess the students' physical, social/emotional, and economic needs.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive plan with identified strategies (including advising, counseling, and mentoring services) to reduce the dropout rate.
  • Design and implement individualized intervention plan with specific strategies (including advising, counseling, and mentoring programs and services) to address the needs of targeted students and to their families/caregivers.
  • Develop daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly work schedules based upon established priorities that maximize services to program students (by addressing the greatest needs of the greatest number of students).
  • Design and implement instructional activities, materials, and strategies in classrooms, workshops, summer programs, and other appropriate settings.
  • Design and implement programs and strategies that help to encourage student participation in program and other academic remediation/enrichment programs.
  • Contact and communicate directly with parents/guardians on a regular basis to ensure parent awareness of and involvement in their child's school performance and to secure parent support of student participation in program, school, and other activities.
  • Assess and continuously reassess program to fit the needs of the students/youth.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Education in a related field ideal.
  • Experience working with youth ages 1217 and providing both instruction and intervention services required.
  • Experience and demonstrated competency in working with schools.
  • Must have the ability to conduct assessments and write reports.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking skills and listening skills.
  • Current drivers license. Ability to travel to multiple school sites and other work locations.
  • Tech Savvy
  • Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
  • Experience working with multicultural populations
  • Strong problemsolving, criticalthinking, and independent decisionmaking skills
  • Ability to function as a team player and to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a shareddecisionmaking environment.
  • Communitybased organization experience is an asset.
