St. Joseph's Villa is searching for Fitness Instructor to join our growing team. We take pride in providing high-quality person-centered care for our vulnerable population.

Job Summary:

Yoga, Tai Chi, Sit and be Fit and dance aerobics for Seniors

Classes would be designed to meet varying levels of participation. The Sit and be Fit classes include a live and virtual option.

Assists with data management of:
S.I.M Gym memberships, promotional materials, monthly dues and payments working with the Manager of Community Services. Promotes marketing of SIM Gym through presentations, brochure and newsletter developments and approved social media postings.


This person may be assigned other duties and responsibilities related to clerical and advertising for the program and services within the Community Services portfolio on site.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provision of safe, engaging and geared to abilities classes in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Data entry of membership of participants in the Seniors in Motion fitness program.
  • Data entry and accounts receivable of the S.I.M Gym when received.
  • Collection of classes only participants and monthly dues.
  • Clerical duties as assigned by the program Manager including filing, telephone correspondence, delivery of program flyers, mailing, creating documents, maintenance of contacts database.
  • Maintaining personal education and required Certifications in this field at own expense.
  • Attend accreditation meetings and work with student/ placement volunteers.
  • The fitness/aerobics instructor will cover any vacation days and potential classes of the Personal Trainer based on skills and abilities.
  • Performs a safety inspection on all equipment prior to use or initiation of a class, reports, removes or investigates as required any malfunctions of equipment, incidents or near incidents to the Manager immediately.
  • Attends all annual mandatory training sessions as required by the facility or as directed by the Program Manager/ Director.
  • Maintains CQI (continuous quality improvement) data base on community members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

(a)

FORMAL EDUCATION:
Certified Aerobics Instructor - Experience working with seniors

Certified/ holds required elements to teach Yoga/ Tai Chi

(b) OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

Proficient in word, excel, word perfect, power point. ms access and internet required.

(c) PROFICIENCY PERIOD 45 days
