Reporting to the Senior Manager, Ethics & Risk, the Ethics & Risk Specialist assists the Senior Risk Manager in administering the Firm's risk management processes, systems and activities, including processes for lateral hires; departures; securing client content (e.g. ethical walls) for the Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver and New York offices.

This is a detail-oriented position with a focus on organizational and time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Major Responsibilities

  • Administer the Firm's lateral hire conflict clearing process
  • Administer the Firm's ethical wall process to comply with the Firm's ethical responsibilities to maintain clients' information in confidence
  • Onboard and Offboard incoming and departing legal professional matters
  • Assist in responding to regulatory requests for information
  • Work with the Senior Risk Manager on risk related projects
  • Interact with legal practice areas, administrative departments and involves direct interactions with partners, senior legal staff and administrative managers in all offices
  • Educate and provide guidance to Firm members regarding the policies and procedures relating to lateral conflict clearing and securing client content
  • Identify and/or participate in the evaluation of tools to enhance best practices and test new products and software
  • Follow procedures and policies governing the Firm's risk management procedures
  • Perform related administrative, clerical, technical and other duties as required

Position Requirements
Education and Experience


This position requires a University degree or College diploma in Information Management, Library Science, Information Science or Library & Information Technology, plus two years experience in a legal environment or professional services firm.

Previous experience with Intapp software is an asset. Bilingualism is an asset. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted.

We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work partially in the office.
