What You Will Do

Design and validate strategies to optimize the performance of different bioelectric manufacturing systems.

Thoroughly characterize bio-electric manufacturing systems by designing and implementing appropriate testing methods, using mathematical modelling tools, probing electrochemical kinetics, studying failure mechanisms, and applying root cause analyses.

Provide support to biochemists in designing new biocatalysts and lead the development of improved electrodes and electrode-enzyme interfaces.
Carry out literature surveys and data analyses. Present findings and recommendations in oral and written reports.
Work closely with members of the electrochemistry, biochemistry, and engineering teams to develop interdisciplinary solutions.
Develop documentation, standard operating procedures, and presentations.
Remain aware of new developments within the field, evaluate, and report on how they might further Anodyne's objectives.

Who You Are

You have experience in the field of bio-electrochemistry and are looking to apply your skills to create sustainable solutions for the chemical sector.

You are excited to be a key member of a growing, fast-paced, interdisciplinary team.

You have a PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field, and hands-on experience in a research or industrial lab.

Your expertise and skills centre around the intersection of biology and electrochemistry. This could include (but is not limited to) bio-electric catalysis, microbial fuel cells, or biosensors.

You have familiarity with standard and advanced voltametric techniques such as CV, CA, EIS, pulse voltammetry, multi-array systems, etc.

and their application to bio-electrochemical systems.
You have the complimentary coding and mathematical skills to analyze and interpret data collected using these methods.
You are creative and able to innovate, solve problems, and design strong experiments to test new questions.
You are self-motivated, can learn and adapt quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, have excellent organizational skills, and are able to communicate to inter-disciplinary teams effectively.

Note:

skills or knowledge that are considered an additional asset could include (but are not limited to): experience with fundamental electrokinetic analysis (e.g., quantifying turnover rates, electron transport rates, mechanistic analysis, etc.); familiarity with materials characterization methods (ICP, XRD, XRF, TEM, SEM, etc.); and/or familiarity with CO2 electroreduction catalysts and systems.

Salary:
$90-$120k

This is an in-person position. If accepting this role at Anodyne would mean moving, reasonable relocating expenses can be provided.

Benefits:
