Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Alzheimer Society of B.C. Full time

The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is thrilled to announce new job opportunities within the organization, aiming to strengthen our ability to assist individuals on the journey with dementia while striving towards a world free from Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. One of these exciting roles is the Database & Analytics Coordinator, Community Engagement.

What You'll Do

The Community Engagement department plays a vital role in facilitating impactful changes at a systemic level to ensure individuals impacted by dementia are included, supported, and engaged within their communities, research, and policy-making processes that affect them.

The Database & Analytics Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Senior Analyst, Database and Analytics, to implement, uphold, and oversee data management procedures across the Community Engagement and Community Services Departments. You will also play a key role in generating reports to demonstrate the organization's impact to stakeholders, such as government entities, in a timely and efficient manner. Furthermore, as the Database & Analytics Coordinator, you will work hand-in-hand with the education team to address administrative and data needs linked to the Alzheimer Society of B.C.'s Learning Management System (LMS).

About You

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education or relevant degree in information technology, information systems, or a related field. Additionally, you should bring:

  • Three to 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data administration and management.
  • Proficiency in data processing; knowledge of Raiser's Edge will be advantageous.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
  • Outstanding communication, time-management, and organizational skills; prior project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems is desirable.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as in a team setting.
  • Familiarity with dementia, caregiving, and the impact on individuals and communities is an asset.

Important Note: The selected candidate will need to provide confirmation of full COVID-19 vaccination status and pass clearance through the BC government's online criminal record check system.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data integrity checks and establish processes to ensure data precision.
  • Retrieve and share data to support planning and new initiatives in response to internal requests.
  • Maintain and update manuals (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Attendance Tool) to ensure accurate documentation across systems.
  • Generate program evaluation reports monthly and quarterly, including evaluation summaries incorporating qualitative client feedback analysis.
  • Manage program evaluation tools like Survey Monkey and compile evaluation data.
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage client mailing lists.
  • Support the training of new staff in data management best practices and provide ongoing troubleshooting assistance.
  • Assist in administering the Attendance Tool and handle requests from field staff.
  • Oversee weekly imports between the Attendance Tool, Raisin, and Raiser's Edge and update subscription responses.
  • Participate in the monthly assignment of support calls and call report extraction.
  • Monitor registrations for the Alzheimer Society of B.C.'s Learning Management System and manage user licenses.
  • Address support inquiries from LMS users, troubleshoot, and escalate issues for technical support when needed.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Analyst to integrate LMS data with other Society systems.
  • Track user data with the education team to guide future programming decisions.
  • Provide coverage for the Senior Analyst, Database and Analytics during vacations.

Who We Are

At the Alzheimer Society of B.C., we offer a flexible work environment that includes options for a nine-day fortnight and potential remote work opportunities within a hybrid model. In addition, we provide:

  • Comprehensive employee benefits package.
  • Participation in Group RRSP.
  • Employee and Family Assistance program for you and your dependents.
  • Growth and learning prospects, with support for relevant training and development initiatives.
  • Generous leave allowances, including four weeks' vacation and personal days.
  • 13 paid statutory holidays annually.

The number of British Columbians living with dementia is on the rise, currently around 85,000 individuals. For each person living with dementia, there are many others affected, including family, friends, and community members. Our vision is to create a society free from Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, starting with a more dementia-friendly environment where those impacted by dementia feel acknowledged, supported, and included. Joining the Alzheimer Society of B.C. means contributing to realizing this vision by connecting more individuals in British Columbia to the necessary support and education at any stage of their dementia journey. You help us combat stigma and shape a better future for those impacted by dementia, showing them they are not alone.

We believe that equity, diversity, and inclusion are crucial for driving societal change and fostering healthy work environments. An inclusive and diverse community encourages the participation of voices that have historically been marginalized. We welcome applications from individuals belonging to groups that have been underrepresented or discouraged, as outlined in the B.C. Human Rights Code.
