Job Description:


Working as a
Customs Clearance Coordinator involves the preparation of Customs documentation to ensure that any shipments either imported or exported meet all applicable laws so that entry or export can occur.

The job of the Customs Clearance Coordinator is a very important role in Shipping & Logistics.

The Customs Clearance Coordinator is involved in determining the level of duties and taxes to be paid including the processing of payments on behalf of clients.


Major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and preparing customs documentation for processing and entry releases;
  • Completing files timely, accurately, and in compliance with Border Buddy and Customs' policies and procedures;
  • Writing detailed notes and instructions re: clients, Freight Forwarder, CBSA, Carriers, etc.
  • Maintains client database & updates information as necessary
  • Dealing with and resolving difficult situations;
  • Ability to process B3 entries to meet Company and Canada customs compliance standards
  • Ability to correct Canada Customs rejected entries
  • Assigning correct HS tariff classifications;
  • Crossselling Border Buddy's services;
  • Setting up Customs Exams when required.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience within a customs brokerage setting, with specific experience in processing all modes of transport;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, CBSA, Carriers, and Freight Forwarders etc
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written);
  • Enjoys new challenges and working in a fastpaced busy environment.
  • Ability to problem solve proactively;
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
  • Selfmotivated and hardworking;
  • Strong organizational abilities, flexible, and reliable;
  • Good computer knowledge and skills;
  • Positive attitude and willingness to grow;
  • Detail oriented, eager to learn and do, resourceful and focused;
  • Minimum Grade 12 graduation; post secondary or business courses in related industry a plus;
  • CCS designation or other industry related certification an asset; and
  • Must be a team player like seriously, prove it
