Position Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

Course Development

  • Works independently, with SMEs, or with guidance from peers or Leadership to design, develop, and support educational programs as assigned, including but not limited to eLearning, classroom training, virtual training, media, and other learning support materials.
  • Develop SCORMcompliant eLearning courses, graphic design, and video development using rapid eLearning tools such as Adobe Captivate, TinCan API, Articulate Storyline, Easy Generator, Captivate or Camtasia.
  • Ensure that each training program is developed with the appropriate objectives and outcomes, and instructor material is professionally prepared and supports the overall curriculum and company training standards.
  • Educate clients on support processes, roles/responsibilities, and best practices.
  • Support the implementation of companywide technical training programs and initiatives from an eLearning perspective (new hire, enhancements, etc.)
  • Manage course content translation through a thirdparty translation service.
  • Configure LMS for publishing eLearning course files, resources, learner access, and enrollment criteria.
  • Design and storyboard microlearning experiences that achieve the target learning objectives.
  • Develop interactive quizzes and games to test the learner and validate the transfer of knowledge and skills learned.
  • Updating curriculum to address gaps and to reach new audiences or goals more effectively.
  • Transferring facetoface training to a blended model by leading the design of new programs, distributed learning courseware, LMS course architecture and reporting, and onboarding programs
  • Integrating a task trainer or simulator into existing programs (designed in collaboration with our developers and artists) to build confidence, develop skills or address skill fade.

LMS

  • Identify and present options to clients of varying levels for potential LMS solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability, sustainability, and best practices.
  • Interface with the client business owners and HR regarding strategy alignment and organizational change impacts on LMS assignments, LMS Curriculum, Complex activity structures, Equivalencies, Assignment, and Reporting Needs.
  • Liaise between client and LMS System/Business Owners to customize LMS notifications, resolve technical issues, assess the business impact for upgrades/bug fixes, request system enhancements, and advanced reports/queries.
  • Create reference material in collaboration with the content services team for clients where appropriate.
  • Participate in training material revisions related to LMS/Reporting and related processes.
  • Schedule courses and coordinate materials, instructors, and other logístical considerations for specific courses and sessions
  • Maintain a current curriculum for all approved training and a summary of curriculum changes to support the organizational master syllabus and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure training programs outlined in the Company's Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Policy Manual are followed to certify full compliance with the current Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Work closely with the Quality and HSE team to plan, manage and maintain Training records in the LMS described in the Quality Manual and ensure our processes comply with Canadian Aviation Regulation 561 and Standard 563, Industry Standard AS9100, and customer requirements.
  • In partnership with key internal stakeholders, carry out an audit of the LMS to ensure compliance with the Transport Canadaapproved Training policies.
Appropriately respond to Audit/Inspection related inquiries and provide on-call support for other time zones as needed.

  • Ensure accurate training records, including applicable licenses and certifications, are stored within a centralized LMS and distribute reports as required.
  • Utilize the LMS system to report on ROI, KPI, and DE&I and measure the success of training and development initiatives.

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • Degree or Certification in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Computer Sciences, or a related field
  • A related certificate or courses in content authoring software or other
