Patrick Mechanical Ltd. is a Sudbury based mechanical contracting company founded in 1989. Over the years, we have established ourselves in the industrial, commercial, and institutional contracting fields. Our specialties include mechanical contracting, custom steel fabrication, plumbing, heating, process piping, millwright, and related services. Patrick Mechanical is a growing, dynamic, and innovative mechanical company with an extensive fleet of skilled workers allowing us to offer services all over Northern Ontario. We are loyal to our customers, providing efficient and cost-effective products and services._

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Support the Controller in workflow process improvement and pursuing special projects.
  • Work with direct reports to determine objectives and goals for each year, providing advice and enhancing staff professional development.
  • Handle personnel issues related to absenteeism, staff performance, and staff conflict.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of features and procedures to enhance the accounting department's workflow.
  • Ensure members of the finance team meet all financial reporting deadlines.
  • Respond to inquiries from the Controller, Director of Finance, and other highlevel managers.
  • Train and advise new and existing employees on nonroutine reporting transactions.
  • Monitor and analyze the financial department to develop more efficient procedures and proper resource utilization while maintaining accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with various accounting software programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures related to construction, contractors, mining, etc. is an asset.
  • Teamwork and effective communication
  • Must be maintained strict confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and ensure the security of financial data and records.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of professional accounting terminology, techniques, theories, and principles.
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to analyze large amounts of data.
  • Sound knowledge of management, finance, and accounting principles.
  • Excellent leadership abilities.
  • Superior data analysis and data management skills.
  • Require staying updated on the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices through professional development and continuing education.
  • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Greater Sudbury, ON P3C 4R9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Accounting: 2 years (preferred)
